Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer, as RTO, it is a energy saving type protection environmental protection devices for processing low volatile organic exhaust gas.
Honeycomb Ceramic Regenerator Used to Deal with Volatile Organic Compounds
Working princile of RTO: organic waste gas can be oxidized at high temperature (≥760ºC) and produce CO2 and H2O, so as to remove ogranic waste gas. The heat of the high-temperature gas at the time of oxidation is stored by the heat regenerators for preheating the newly-entered organic waste gas, saving the fuel comsuption required for temperature increase.

As a key component of regenerative thermal oxidizer (RTO), honeycomb ceramic regenerator has many advantages, such as large heat exchange area per unit volume, fast heat transfer, small air flow resistance, low heat penetration, and high thermal efficiency.

At present, our honeycomb ceramic regenerators mainly have square holes. In actual practice, the honeycomb ceramic regenerator with square holes have the following two porblems: 1. The cross bars of the honeycomb ceramic regenerator may easily block the two layers of honeycomb ceramics, thereby increasing the pressure drop of honeycomb ceramic. 2. Because the air does not flow horizontally when passing through the straight holes of honeycomb ceramic, the gas flow uniformity on the cross section cannot be guaranteed. Therefore, the actual heat recovery rate is lower than the theoretical heat recovery rate.

In order to solve the common problems of honeycomb ceramics regenerators with square holes, our company has inrpoved the structure and production process of honeycomb cermaic products, and developed a flaky combination honeycomb ceramic regenerator, which is a honeycomb ceramic regenerator specially designed for regenerative thermal oxidizer. Its internal honeyocmb structure adopts T-shape arrangement design, which raplces the "cross" square-hole structure of previous ordinary honeycomb ceramics, and solves the blocking problem in the process of using the product. Meanwhile, the internal honeycomb holes have connected structure, increase the void fraction, reduce pressure drop, and improve gas distribution in the whole section, so that gas distrubuted more evenly, and the heat recovery efficiency of equipment is improved.

Typical organic waste gases include hydorcarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons, alcohols, ketones, aldehydes, ethers, phenols, esters, nitriles and their derivatives. It is widely used in chemical industry, automobile paint, spray drying equipment, organic chemical industry, petroleum chemical industry, block printing, offset printing, food processing and other fields.
